Whether you have oily, dry, sensitive, normal, combination, acne-prone, or aging skin; Our skin is like the clothes we wear everyday. It is always going through changes. Especially during the changing of the seasons. Knowing what type of skin you have is only just a portion of the battle. Knowing what proper cleanser to use on your skin is and how your skin changes during the seasons are the true keys to optimizing and enhancing your skin's best features. Counting down from number five to number one on my personal skincare favs.

5. Neutrogena Soothing Clear Turmeric Mousse Cleanser:

I am quite shocked at this cleanser making my list to be quite honest. Not saying that Neutrogena has horrible products (because they don't whatsoever); I recently had a shaving mishap where my skin broke up very badly. I experienced breakouts, slight skin discoloration due to hyperpigmentation and out of control blemishes. I began using this product a few weeks ago after my mother's high school reunion party and I noticed really great results! One of the active ingredients turmeric, which can be used for cooking purposes as well works as an antioxidant which neutralizes free radicals (which cause skin to age prematurely) and a healing agent that help heals skin discoloration! This is a cleanser that can be recommended for stressed skin and acne-prone skin.

4. Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser:

Of course this cleanser was going to make the list! As an esthetician, Dermalogica was one of the first brands that I had the honor of working with and gained extensive knowledge and expertise with their brand. This cleanser is super effective for anyone with skin sensitivities and prone to skin becoming dry and irritated with the changing of seasons. To put it simple, it could be your best friend especially during the fall/winter seasons or if you suffer from eczema, psoriasis, erythema, rosacea or any other skin sensitivity ailments. Keep this cleanser close by and watch it perform wonders on your face!

3. Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser:

I like it spicy when it comes to penetrating the skin's barrier. Glycolic acid is one of the strongest alpha-hydroxy acids when it comes to skincare. This AHA has small molecules that penetrate the skins barrier very deep to help eliminate signs of aging skin. Fun fact, you do not need to be considered old to use an anti-aging cleanser! Many individuals use this cleanser as a preventative to retain a youthful look to the skin and as a bonus, it helps exfoliate the skin, promoting healthy cell turnover!

2. Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Cleanser

Okay, I am a bit bias when it comes to trying products from Dermalogica. They are just simply amazing and they keep evolving into an even more revolutionary force for skincare! They are truly a force to be reckoned with! Made for dry skin types, I use this when its' very cold and dry out and feel like the weather has sucked all the moisture out of my face; I am usually not a dry skin type, however, I love a product that leaves my skin feeling hydrated and dewy. Armed with ingredients such as coconut oil and murumuru seed butter, this oil-based cleanser is essential for anyone with dryer skin types. Not necessarily for oily skin types but to each's own. One of my favorites.

  1. Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

SURPRISE! Not really for me at least. This is my holy grail when it comes to facial cleansers. It is soap free and so it does not strip the skin's moisture barrier! Ideally for normal and combination skin types, mainly anyone can use this cleanser. It is an "all around" cleanser and provides a deep-needed cleaning feel and sensation. I use this literally everyday. This cleanser is so versatile, that it can be combined with an exfoliant to give it an extra boost or if you are a bit hardcore like myself when it comes to skincare, I sometimes double cleanse with a glycolic cleanser! I would not recommend that combo for anyone with sensitive skin.
